What Devices Work with Alpha Anywhere?

Description

Alpha Anywhere requires a laptop or desktop computer running macOS or Windows. Chromebooks and iPads do not currently work with the platform due to technical limitations of the learning applications.

Supported Devices

βœ… WORKS: Laptops and Desktop Computers

macOS devices:

  • MacBook Air (any year that runs current macOS)

  • MacBook Pro (any year that runs current macOS)

  • iMac desktop computers

  • Mac mini (with separate monitor, keyboard, mouse)

Windows devices:

  • Windows laptops from any manufacturer (Dell, HP, Lenovo, Asus, etc.)

  • Windows desktop computers

  • Must run Windows 10 or newer

  • Both Intel and AMD processors supported

❌ DOES NOT WORK: Tablets and Chromebooks

iPads (all models):

  • iPad Pro, iPad Air, iPad mini, standard iPad

  • Even with keyboard attachments

  • Technical limitation, not user preference

Chromebooks (all models):

  • Any device running Chrome OS

  • Including high-end Chromebook models

  • Even with Linux mode enabled

Android tablets:

  • Samsung Galaxy Tab, etc.

  • Any tablet running Android OS

Why Chromebooks and iPads Don't Work

Technical Architecture Limitations

Alpha Anywhere uses 12+ different educational applications that require:

  • Full operating system capabilities: More than mobile/tablet OS provides

  • Software installation rights: Chromebooks and tablets have restricted app installation

  • System-level access: Some learning apps need deeper system integration

  • Multi-application coordination: Platform manages multiple apps simultaneously
