Core Subjects
Math - placed at your child's actual level based on diagnostics, with approximately 120 essential skills to master per grade level
Reading - comprehension and fluency through adaptive, leveled content (US Common Core History is embedded here, mastered through daily articles, so there is no separate block to schedule). Students who are not yet independent readers receive multimodal support, including text-to-speech, through 2nd-grade mastery.
Language Arts - grammar and language usage through adaptive, leveled content.
Science - unlocks after your child passes the Grade 2 Math, Reading, and Language tests (passing is 89.5% or higher), is enrolled in Grade 3 Fast Math, and is at least age grade 2 (Science begins at the Grade 3 level). This ensures students are not penalized on word problems when reading is the real barrier.
Supplemental Subjects
Writing (AlphaWrite) - our AI-powered writing coach (now including essays), is made available after your child passes the Grade 3 Language Arts test and is at least age grade 2. Writing is supplemental. The AI coaches the process; it does not write for your child.
Vocabulary - builds word knowledge through adaptive practice.
Fast Math - daily practice building speed and accuracy in four-function math. About 10 minutes a day, highly encouraged. Students who commit to this consistently tend to outpace peers by a full grade level through middle school.
What We Do Not Currently Offer
Foreign language, art, music, handwriting, and physical education are not part of the program. Most families supplement these independently through local classes, co-ops, or at-home practice. We strongly recommend families prioritize handwriting practice at home.
Good to Know
All subjects are included in your enrollment. The program cannot be broken into individual subjects. Content extends through 12th grade for students who accelerate. The curriculum is Cognia-accredited, secular, and aligned to Core Knowledge and US Common Core standards
