Curriculum Overview

What your child will learn and how the subjects fit together.

Updated this week

Core Subjects

  • Math - placed at your child's actual level based on diagnostics, with approximately 120 essential skills to master per grade level

  • Reading / Language Arts - comprehension, vocabulary, and language usage through adaptive, leveled content. Students who are not yet independent readers receive multimodal support, including text-to-speech, through 2nd-grade mastery.

  • Science - unlocks automatically after your child passes a Grade 2 reading mastery test at 90%+. This ensures students are not penalized on word problems when reading is the real barrier.

  • History - embedded in the Reading curriculum. Your child masters US Common Core History through their daily articles. Two subjects in one, no separate block to schedule.

Extended Subjects

  • Writing (AlphaWrite) - our AI-powered writing coach. Appears automatically after your child masters Grade 3 Language Arts. The AI coaches the process; it does not write for your child.

  • Fast Math - daily practice building speed and accuracy in four-function math. About 20 minutes a day, highly encouraged. Students who commit to this consistently tend to outpace peers by a full grade level through middle school.

What We Do Not Currently Offer

Foreign language, art, music, handwriting, and physical education are not part of the program. Most families supplement these independently through local classes, co-ops, or at-home practice. We strongly recommend families prioritize handwriting practice at home.

Good to Know

All subjects are included in your enrollment. The program cannot be broken into individual subjects. Content extends through 12th grade for students who accelerate. The curriculum is Cognia-accredited, secular, and aligned to Core Knowledge and US Common Core standards. A skills map is available in the Parent Portal once enrolled.
