The Basics
ESA (Education Savings Account) funding is available in select states and can significantly reduce your out-of-pocket costs for Alpha Anywhere. ESA eligibility, approved expenses, and reimbursement rules are set by your state's program, not by Alpha Anywhere.
Alpha Anywhere is currently approved and ready to use with ESA programs in Florida and Arizona. We are actively working to expand access to all open-access state programs as quickly as possible.
For families in states with ESA programs not listed here, or for questions about your specific state, ask your Program Advisor during your 1-to-1 call or email [email protected].
How Much Can ESA Funding Cover?
This varies by state. As an example, Florida ESA funding provides approximately $7,500 when fully leveraged, bringing your annual out-of-pocket cost down to around $2,500 (compared to the standard $10,000 annual tuition). Your state's ESA amount and coverage will differ. Check directly with your state ESA program for specifics.
How It Works
Alpha Anywhere does not process ESA funds directly. All ESA transactions go through your state's ESA website or platform. Our payment system provides the instructions and documentation you need to apply your funds.
Step 1: Apply for ESA funding. Apply directly through your state's ESA program. If you are transitioning your child from public school mid-year, make sure they are removed from public school enrollment first. Wait for approval and fund allocation.
Step 2: Enroll with Alpha Anywhere. You do not need to wait for ESA funds to arrive before starting. Add your credit card in the Parent Portal, purchase the program from the Marketplace, and begin onboarding. You can apply ESA funds to your account once they are deposited.
Step 3: Apply your ESA funds. Once your ESA funds are deposited, they will appear in your Alpha Anywhere Parent Portal. Follow the instructions provided to allocate them to your account.
Common Issues
Funds showing as $0: This usually happens when your child is still registered in the public school system, or there are administrative delays in fund allocation. Contact your state ESA program directly for the fastest resolution.
Documentation for ESA submissions: Alpha Anywhere provides invoices and receipts that can be used for ESA submissions. Contact our support team if you need documentation assistance.
A Note on Other Funding Options
529 plans: Homeschool expenses, including Alpha Anywhere, are generally not considered qualified expenses under 529 rules. Using 529 funds for Alpha Anywhere would likely incur a tax penalty. Please refer to your specific 529 plan's rules to confirm.
Scholarships or financial aid: We do not currently offer scholarships or financial assistance.
