What Khan Academy Is
Khan Academy offers video lessons, practice exercises, and personalized learning paths across a wide range of subjects. Every Alpha Anywhere student has it as part of their program.
It works well alongside your child's other assigned apps, each covering different aspects of their learning. Your child's Dash schedule will show when Khan Academy is part of their day.
How to Log In
Your child must open Khan Academy through their lesson link in Dash inside StudyReel. Do not go directly to khanacademy.org.
Open the Khan Academy lesson from Dash.
Click “Continue with Google.”
Enter your child’s Alpha Google credentials:
Email: [email protected]
Password: iloveschool
After this, they are signed in.
How Progress Is Tracked
As long as your child opens Khan Academy through Dash each session, their completed work is recorded automatically. There is nothing extra to do on your end.
If your child ever opens Khan Academy directly through khanacademy.org instead of through Dash, that work will not appear in their progress dashboard. It is an easy habit to form, and a quick reminder at the start of each session is all that is needed.
How Mastery Works in Khan Academy
To master a Khan Academy skill, your child needs to answer all of the questions correctly. Each skill only has a few questions, so this is not as daunting as it sounds.
If they do not get them all right the first time, they can retry. Close the skill, reopen it from Dash, and try again. Encourage your child to watch the video lesson before attempting the skill and to double-check their answers before submitting. This makes a big difference in getting through on fewer attempts.
