AlphaWrite is a personalized, AI-supported writing program for grades 3-8 that explicitly teaches strong sentences, paragraphs, and essays.
Built on the Hochman Method from The Writing Revolution, it scaffolds skills step by step and gives AI-guided feedback as your child writes. A placement based on Language mastery sets the starting course, with your child working in a fixed sequence in each grade

How to log in
Apps in TimeBack log in automatically as standard. If the automatic login doesn't work, follow the steps below.
Students sign in once on the first launch from TimeBack; after that, it opens without signing in again.
Open TimeBack: Sign in to TimeBack with your child's school email and find the “Writing” course on your “Home.”
Click Jump In: Open the "Writing" course and click Jump In.
Sign in with Gmail (first time): On the first launch, sign in with your student's credentials.
Start the first activity: Each course runs in order. Begin with the first activity and work through it.
Your Daily Work
Sentences or Paragraphs lessons
Choose a topic: pick a pre-loaded one or type your own in “Write a topic you love.”
Learn the skill: read the short lesson (use Read Aloud if you like), and notice the countdown timer to read before starting.
Practice: with multiple-choice and write-your-own questions. Use Hints when stuck, and the question mark (top-right) to revisit the lesson.
Read the feedback on any wrong answer; only click “I Disagree” if the feedback is clearly wrong.
How essays work (the 4-day plan)
Essays are built in five graded stages: Setup, Outline, Draft, Revise, and Polish.
Each stage opens with an AI Tutor tutorial; click the blue button to continue it and to unlock the writing workspace.
After Setup, every stage is graded with targeted AI feedback; use it to revise before submitting.
The Previous Work tab (top-left) lets your child revisit earlier steps, like the outline.
A good pace is the 4-day plan:
Day 1: Setup & Outline
Day 2: Draft
Day 3: Revise
Day 4: Polish & Submit.
How XP Works
In Sentences and Paragraphs, each activity finished with a Powerpath 100 score earns 15 XP, toward a 25 XP daily goal.
Essays earn XP stage by stage:
Setup: 10
Outline: 50
Draft: 25
Revise: 25
Polish: 15
Bonus XP is awarded for an essay that scores an A+!.

How to tell it's working
Steady daily XP; about 25 a day is the sign it's working. TimeBack shows lessons completed and XP per activity if you want the full picture.
If AlphaWrite marks an answer wrong but it looks right, read the feedback first; it explains why. If it's clearly incorrect, your child can click “I Disagree” to flag it for the team.

How does my child log in?

What course will my child start in?
Your child's starting point depends on their Language mastery level:
Mastered Grade 3 Language → Starts in Sentences G3.
Mastered Grade 5 or above Language → Take the G6 Essays placement test.
From there, the courses run in order: Sentences → Paragraphs → Essays at each grade.
