Alpha Anywhere runs on the TimeBack desktop app, which needs a laptop or desktop computer running macOS or Windows. Chromebooks, iPads, tablets, and phones are not supported.

A laptop or desktop with a working camera (720p/HD or better) and microphone (built-in is fine).
At least 8 GB of memory recommended.
Chromebooks, iPads, tablets, and phones are not supported.
Internet
At least 1 Mbps of upload speed per student. Most home internet plans comfortably exceed this.
If more than one child learns at the same time, each needs 1 Mbps of upload.
Why Chromebooks and iPads don't work
Alpha Anywhere uses several different learning apps that need a full desktop operating system - the ability to install software, deeper system access, and the capacity to run several apps at once. Chromebooks, iPads, and other tablets restrict those capabilities, so the apps can't run reliably. It's a technical limitation, not a preference.
