Edmentum delivers structured high school coursework. Science for grades 12 and Language across grades 10-12, combining instruction, practice, and assessment in a guided sequence. Your child works through each course in order, unlocking the next activity as they go.
How to log in
Apps in TimeBack log in automatically as standard. If the automatic login doesn't work, follow the steps below.
You can sign in with the Account Login, Username, and password if the auto-sign-in doesn't work. TimeBack shows these credentials right before the app opens, ready to copy and paste.
Open TimeBack: Sign in to TimeBack with your child's student email and find the “Language or Science - Edmentum” course on your “Home.”
Launch Edmentum: Open the app from the Science or Language block; single sign-on handles login.
Resume the course: The next activity is pinned at the top.

Each Edmentum activity combines instruction, practice, and an assessment. Activities unlock in sequence; finishing the current one releases the next - so your child works through the course in order.
How lessons work
Course Structure & Learning Flow
Pretests
Pretests assess your student's prior knowledge before a unit begins. If you score high enough on a Pretest, the system may "Exempt" certain lessons. Exempted lessons are recorded as a 100% score, but they grant 0 XP.
The Lesson Cycle
Tutorial: The primary teaching tool. Do not skip through these; they contain the core material.
Guided Notes: Each Tutorial contains Guided Notes, which are fillable PDFs containing notes for the tutorials. Students should use these notes alongside the Tutorial and fill them in as they move through it.
To access Guided Notes for any Tutorial, open the tutorial and click on the Folder Icon in the menu at the left of the screen. Then, click on “Resources” and select “Guided Notes”. There is also “Glossary” where students can access a table of all the important terms and definitions from that tutorial.
Lesson Activities: These are interactive tasks within the tutorial.
Importance: Putting full effort into these activities is the best way to prepare for Mastery and Post Tests. High effort here directly correlates to higher test scores.
Mastery Tests: Taken after completing a tutorial to prove you understand the specific topic.
Mastery Criteria: You must score 80% or higher to move forward. This course uses "Sequential Unlocking," meaning you cannot access the Unit Post-test until all Mastery Tests in that unit are cleared.
Unlocking: You are granted 4 attempts to reach the 80% threshold. To unlock an attempt, you must revisit the Tutorial.
Resetting: If you fail to hit 80% after 4 attempts, you must reach out to us to reset the activity.
Post Tests (Unit Tests)
These occur at the end of a full unit. They cover multiple lessons and carry significant weight in your final grade.
How XP works
Completion & Accuracy: You earn XP for completing lessons with at least 80% accuracy.
Bonus XP: Earned for achieving 100% accuracy on your first attempt of a lesson.
A first attempt earns the full XP for that activity (roughly 20 – 62 XP depending on length), with a bonus for a perfect first-attempt score.
Answering without real work can cost XP, so a careful first attempt pays off most. If you repeat a lesson, you earn partial credit:
1st Redo: 50% XP
2nd Redo: 25% XP
3rd Redo+: 0 XP
How You Lose or Miss XP
Incomplete Lessons: 0 XP earned if the lesson is not finished.
Low Accuracy: 0 XP earned if accuracy is below 80%.
Gaming the System: Engaging in "gaming," cheating, or random guessing will result in Negative XP.
Exemptions: Lessons skipped via pretests grant 0 XP.

My child scored under 80% and needs to retake a test
Students are granted 4 attempts to reach the 80% threshold. To unlock an attempt, you must revisit the Tutorial. If you fail to hit 80% after 4 attempts, you must reach out via Alphie to have our team reset the lesson.
