Support for Struggling Learners

The built-in supports for a child who's finding a subject hard, a note on scaffolding, and how to get more help.

If your child is finding a subject challenging, that's completely normal, and TimeBack is built to meet them where they are. Here's what's available to help, and how to get more support when you need it.

Built-in support

  • Mastery-based pace

Your child never has to move on before they're ready. They keep working at a grade until they've truly mastered it, so gaps don't pile up.

  • Foundation Rebuilding

When a test shows a few weak spots, your child gets a custom set of lessons that target exactly those skills before retesting. See “How Foundation Rebuilding Works.

  • Text-to-speech with Speechify

On-screen text can be read aloud across the learning apps, which helps when reading is the barrier rather than the skill being tested. (It's turned off during MAP testing, which has its own read-aloud for students with documented accommodations.)

Coaching is part of the program

Coaching is built into Alpha Anywhere. It's not an optional add-on. Coaches help your child build strong habits and work through the hard parts.

  • Breakthrough Coaching

Weekly coaching for every child, with individual and small-group support designed to help students sharpen focus, build confidence, stay motivated, and feel connected.

  • Post-test coaching

After any mastery tests, a coach reviews the results with your child and helps them understand the causes of incorrect answers and offers executive function/test-taking tips and strategies. Book a Post-test coaching session.

  • Academic Rescue coaching

Academic rescue helps students when stuck on a lesson or an article.
