Your learning calendar is where you decide which days your child learns this year and which days they take off. It covers August 1 through July 31, and you can change any upcoming day at any time.
You'll find it on the Calendar tab of each child's page in the parent portal.

Setting it up
The first time you open it, we start you on our standard calendar, already filled in. Keep it as it is, or tap any day to turn it off or back on.
Setup is a one-time step, and if you've already been doing some work, it's the only time you can fill in days that have already passed. We pre-select the past days your child actually worked (at least 20 XP, or 20 minutes of learning) and leave the rest off. A past day with nothing recorded can't be counted as a learning day. Editing past days does not affect rewards or streaks in the past.
Setup begins at your child's current term rather than at the start of the year, so you're filling in the stretch that counts toward their next test.
Fall and Spring are what count
The year is split by the MAP tests:
Fall runs from Fall MAP to Winter MAP.
Spring runs from Winter MAP to Spring MAP.
Summer is optional. Days you turn on still earn daily goals and count toward rewards, but nothing is required for MAP.
Each term has a recommended number of learning days. Choose fewer and the same total gets packed into fewer days, so each day has to be worth more. Days off don't lower what a subject needs before the next MAP test.
A subject qualifies on 75% of its term XP target (about 19 XP a day), or on the full learning-time target of 25 active minutes per scheduled learning day.
The Calendar tab shows what each term asks for and what an average learning day has been worth in each subject. If a subject averages well under the daily bar, fewer days widen the gap.
Days you can't change
Changing Today
Today is still in progress, so you can still change it. If you turn today off, that day's goals drop to zero and the day won't count against your child's streak. Anything they've already earned still counts. If you turn it on, today gets the daily goal for your child's level and counts toward the streak and rewards. See Levels: your child's daily goal.
We'll ask you to confirm, and it can take a few minutes for the change to reach your child's screen.
Taking a longer break
For a day here or there, just mark the days off. For a longer break, pause the subscription from Manage Account: pauses run for a minimum of three weeks, and they can't cover a MAP test or the week before one.
Paused days appear on the calendar automatically, so you don't need to mark them yourself.
Seeing the whole year
The Calendar tab shows a month or two at a time. Open full year puts every month from now through July on one page, which is easier when you're planning a trip or a long break.
Common questions
We haven’t set up a calendar yet. What are we on?
Every weekday counts as a learning day until you set one up. Setting it up is how you tell us which days your family is actually taking.
We cancelled a pause. What happens to those days?
They go back to being learning days, with their daily goals. If some of them should stay off, mark them on the Calendar tab.
Can a pause cover MAP testing?
No. A pause cannot cover a testing window, and it cannot cover the Monday to Friday week before one.
