At Alpha Anywhere, learning is independent by design.
That independence is powerful, but only when progress reflects what a learner truly understands.
Academic honesty is how we protect that progress and our learners’ long-term success.
While we cannot see every moment of a learner’s work, we regularly review assessment data and learning patterns to ensure progress is genuine. When work is completed independently, the data gives us a clear, trustworthy picture and allows us to move learners forward with confidence.
What Academic Honesty Means
Academic honesty means learners complete skills, articles, and mastery tests on their own, without:
Searching for answers online
Using AI tools to generate, find, or select answers
Using calculators or AI tools unless they are explicitly allowed
This expectation applies to all work done in Alpha Anywhere.
What This Does Not Mean
Academic honesty does not mean learners are expected to struggle without support.
We strongly believe in learning how to learn. Learners are encouraged to take ownership of their understanding by:
Looking up unfamiliar vocabulary
Rewatching or finding instructional videos when a concept is unclear
Using approved resources to understand how a skill works
This type of support is appropriate while working on SKILLS, not during tests:
Using resources to understand during skills builds learning
Using resources to answer during assessments undermines learning
That distinction matters because mastery data guides what comes next.
If Work Is Not Completed Independently
When academic honesty is compromised, families can expect the following steps:
Families are notified
The affected assessment is invalidated and reassigned
Rewards for that week are removed
A fine is applied:
100 Alphas for a first instance
500 Alphas for a second instance
1000 Alphas for subsequent instances
These steps are not meant to punish. They exist to protect learners from advancing without the foundation they need.
When mastery is skipped or bypassed, gaps often surface later during MAP testing, future mastery tests, or higher-level skills that rely on earlier understanding. At that point, learning becomes more frustrating and time-consuming.
Slowing down to learn something well now prevents bigger setbacks later.
Our Shared Goal
Academic honesty and learning how to learn are not opposites.
One protects integrity.
The other builds independence.
Together, they ensure progress is real, durable, and earned.
Thank you for partnering with us to support both. Your trust matters, and it directly supports your child’s long-term outcomes.
