Summer is the perfect time for kids to build something real. The Summer Space Journey is a fun summer taste of Alpha Anywhere Life Skills. It is not the full Life Skills program, but a playful summer season built around independent challenges and student autonomy, where kids take the lead.
It is a weekly adventure of hands-on challenges designed to grow creativity, grit, and genuine problem-solving skills, all while students are having too much fun to notice they are learning.
How the weekly challenges work
Every Monday, a new challenge launches. One week, students engineer an elaborate chain-reaction machine. Another week, they take on a Great British Bake-Off-style creation. Each challenge is student-led: kids choose how to tackle it, imagine something, build it, film their attempt or proof, and share it with their crew, all at their own pace and on their own terms. The magic is in the doing: the false starts, the redesigns, the moment it finally works. Along the way, students learn that spectacular failure is part of the process, and that the best builders are the ones who rethink, retry, and keep going.

No one travels alone
What makes the Summer Space Journey special is that no one travels alone. Every student is connected to fellow explorers. They post their creations, cheer each other on, laugh at the bloopers, and earn rewards.
Built to fit real family life
The program is built to fit real family life. Students move at their own pace, and every challenge stays open for the entire summer. If your child joins in late or misses a week, nothing is lost. They can start with this week's challenge and work back through the earlier ones whenever they like. There is no pressure and no penalty, just an open runway all summer long. However, if they are on track, they can join the live builders hours, created to help students with that week's challenge. We answer questions, give tips and tricks, and encourage their best efforts for the task ahead!

Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs)
What is the Summer Space Journey?
It is a fun summer taste of Alpha Anywhere Life Skills, not the full program. Think of it as a playful, self-directed summer season: a series of fun, hands-on independent challenges that launch weekly on our Launchdeck hub. Each challenge helps students build creativity, grit, and problem-solving skills through building, filming, and sharing their own creations, at their own pace and on their own terms.
Is this the full Life Skills program?
No. The Summer Space Journey is a lighter summer taste of Life Skills, built around independent challenges and student autonomy. It is a self-directed way for kids to keep creating over the summer, separate from the full Life Skills program.
How does my child join?
Head to your TimeBack Anywhere Dash
Click Life Skills in the bottom left corner of your screen to open the launch deck
Run through the short onboarding to get set up.
Your student can start the current challenge right away. It takes about a minute to get going.
Does it cost anything?
No. The Summer Space Journey is included free as part of Alpha Anywhere.
How often do new challenges come out?
A new challenge drops every Monday throughout the summer, and each one stays open for the rest of the season.
What if we start late or miss a week?
That is completely fine. Every challenge stays open all summer, so your student can jump in whenever they like and go back to complete earlier ones at their own pace.
What kinds of challenges are there?
Playful, hands-on builds such as a chain-reaction machine or a Great British Bake-Off-style challenge. Each one is designed to be creative, doable at home, and fun to share.
What ages is it for? Alpha Anywhere students across grade bands. Challenges are designed to work for a wide range of ages, so most students can take part and enjoy them.
Do students work alone or with others?
Both, and students stay in the driver's seat throughout. They work through challenges independently and at their own pace, then share their attempts with a cohort of other students, cheer each other on, and unlock group rewards together. Parents and coaches are welcome to join in too.
What do students earn?
Students collect rewards like stardust or Alphas and unlock milestones as a cohort, with weekly celebrations that spotlight their creations. (Alphas are deposited once a week.)
Why is my child not receiving Summer Life Skills Communications?
We have held Life Skills communications back from students in our Academic Summer Program to keep their focus on academic progress this summer. If your child is progressing well in academics, we may be able to make an exception for your student, but completion of their academic work should come before taking on any Life Skills challenges. You can reach out to [email protected] to request an exception.
